Plymouth Woman Charged In Fatal FDL County Accident

(5:30 a.m. 8/16/13): The two drivers a 51-year-old Plymouth woman passed on Highway 23 near Seven Hills Road Wednesday morning causing a fatal accident say they both saw an on coming vehicle. Fifty-three-year-old Kathleen Fee of Fond du Lac was killed when she tried to avoid a red Chevy Cavalier that Laurie Garcia was driving. Fee had to pull off onto a gravel shoulder, lost control and crossed back over the centerline where 41-year-old Mark Feldner of St. Cloud struck the back end of her car causing Fee’s car to “hook around.” She was thrown from it and died at the scene. Garcia, a nurse, passed a car and an SUV pulling a boat. According to the criminal complaint when she was stopped by a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy on Highway 151 south of Wonser Road she admitted to passing two vehicles doing about 65 miles an hour. A driver in one of the cars she passed believed she was going about 75 miles per hour. Asked if she may have cut those vehicles off or any oncoming traffic, Garcia said she didn’t think so. She said her vision is poor at night, and it was dark. She also admitted to having depth perception problems. Garcia has been charged with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. Bond was set at $25,000 cash and she has a preliminary hearing September 12th.
