WI DHS Dashboard Shows Positive COVID Tests In FDL County Down Over Weekend, Unofficially

It may be the silver lining Fond du Lac County was looking for. Then again, it may have just been a weekend reprieve. The DHS dashboard is reporting just 122 confirmed COVID-19 cases over the weekend in the county, which is down drastically from the 244 positive tests reported by Fond du Lac County Health on Friday. Again, the weekend numbers are “unofficial” as Fond du Lac County does not release up to date information until the Monday numbers are given at 2:30 p.m. on Monday afternoons.

Statewide, there were more than 11,000 positive COVID-19 tests over the weekend, and more than 50 deaths. The state Department of Health Services reported 4,280 coronavirus cases, out of more than 12,000 tests on Sunday, and 7,065 on Saturday. DHS reported 11 deaths on Sunday, following 45 on Saturday, bringing the total death toll to 2,312. The seven-day positive test rate reached 34.4 percent Sunday, the highest yet. The Wisconsin Hospitals Association reported 1,860 hospitalized COVID-19 patients as of Sunday, with 387 in intensive care units.
