Possible Plea Agreement in Merget Case

A plea agreement appears to be in the works for
the alleged ringleader of a Campbellsport drug ring. 57-year-old Lori Merget
was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Washington County Court, but court
records indicate that Merget and her attorney want time to review an offer made
by prosecutors. She’ll be back in court July 17th. A preliminary hearing has
been set for June 28th for her son, 32-year-old William Merget, also charged in
the heroin and oxycodone delivery case. He requested the preliminary hearing
yesterday. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 26th for
55-year-old Steven Duncan, accused of being one of the runners in the drug
ring.
Each of the three, plus five others, face
multiple felony drug charges.
