Power Outage In FDL

Update:

An accident involving a semi-truck that hit a power pole on Morris Street left a little over 2,700 Alliant Energy customers in Fond du Lac without power. Annmarie Newman of Alliant says power was restored to all, but about 2 or 3 by 8:45 p.m. Friday morning. She says there was damage to the transmission system. St. Peter’s Lutheran School on South Main Street cancelled classes due to the outage.

Alliant Energy officials say damage was done to more substantial equipment at a substation on the south end of Fond du Lac. Ann Marie Newman says crews are still working to restore power to more than 2,700 customers. Some power was rerouted and they hope to have an update on the total number of customers still without power soon.

Over 2,700 Alliant Energy customers in Fond du Lac are without power this morning. Ann Marie Newman of Alliant says a transmission pole near a substation was broken and the outage began at 6:23 this morning. The substation is located off of Morris between 9th and Pioneer.
