Preliminary Hearing Today For Man Who Hid Brothers Corpse

There’s a preliminary hearing today for a 45-year-old Ripon man suspected of hiding his brother’s corpse in a barrel. Robert Diamentis was charged in Fond du Lac County Court with hiding a corpse, failing to report a death and obstruction charges. According to the criminal complaint he hid the body of 45-year-old Richard Diamentis in a 50 gallon barrel at a residence on Olden Road. Richard allegedly died in February. The body was discovered after Town of Ripon Police asked Sheriff’s deputies for help on welfare check.  Richard suffered from a medical condition that affected mobility and coordination. According to a criminal complaint Robert Diamentis told investigators Richard died February 24th. He allegedly didn’t report the death fearing people would accuse him of mistreating Richard.
