Preliminary Numbers for Wisconsin Gun Deer Season Higher than Last Year

Preliminary numbers are showing hunters bagged more deer
during this year’s gun deer hunt – compared to last season. 

The DNR reports a
total of 211,430 deer were registered this year, up 6.9 percent from the
197,733 registered in 2017. 

In our area, Fond du Lac County
was up 15.5-percent from 2017 with 2,676 total deer harvested. Green Lake
County
saw an
18.4-percent jump with 2,551 deer killed. Dodge County
saw a 2.6-percent rise with 2,679 deer brought in. 

This year’s gun deer season
ran from November 17th through this past Sunday.
