Press Box Blue Sox Win ASA Modified National Title

The Press Box Blue Sox won the ASA Modified Pitch Softball National
Championship over the weekend at Lakeside
Park in Fond du Lac
.  The Blue Sox rallied to beat Wouters Front Repo
Men of Green Bay 8-7 in the National Championship Game, which ended after 2am Labor
Day morning.  Mitch Beau’s hit in the bottom
of the 7th plated the winning run for the Blue Sox. The Blue Sox went
5-0 over the weekend.  Earning 1st
Team All-American Honors for The Press Box were; pitcher Sean McCauley, 3B
Mitch Beau, and OF Jordan DeBoer.  Earning
2nd Team All-American status were OF Tim Snow and catcher Paul Heinkel.
 DeBoer was the tournament batting champion
with a .667 mark and he was also named the tournament MVP.   24 teams from across the nation competed in this year’s national championship tournament.
