Primary Election Results Released

More than 14,000 people cast ballots here in Fond du Lac County for the partisan primary today. 

In the big races on the Republican side – Captain Ryan Waldschmidt ran away with the win in the race for Fond du Lac County Sheriff, getting 82-percent of the vote in his contest against Deputy Mike Norton. 

Wisconsin voters also gave Leah Vukmir the nod over Kevin Nicholson for the Republican US Senate candidacy. Vukmir will take on Senator Tammy Baldwin in November. She received 49-percent of the vote, while he saw 42-percent here in Fond du Lac County.

 In the largest Democratic race – State Superintendent Tony Evers claims the nomination to challenge Governor Scott Walker in November. He crushed a packed field, which was filled with seven other candidates, and two other people who withdrew after the ballots were made. Evers took about 52-percent of the vote here in Fond du Lac County, and the statewide race was called with just 33-percent of precincts reporting.
