Private WI Colleges Receive $37 Million In COVID-19 Funding

$37 Million. That’s the latest money being directed by Governor Tony Evers in federal COVID-19 relief funding to private higher education institutions in Wisconsin. Marquette University tops the list, receiving $6.6 million, with Herzing University followed closely behind at $4.3 million. Lakeland University will be awarded $1.4 million. A total of 13 institutions will receive the funding, which is part of the state’s allocation under the CARES Act and will used to reimburse necessary, nonbudgeted expenses associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest round of funding is in addition to the over $354 million that had already been designated to the state’s K-12 schools and higher education establishments, also through the CARES Act.
