Public Picks Favorites In FDL Visual Arts Exhibit

Members of Fond du Lac Visual Arts decided to try something new at their annual show at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Langdon Divers Gallery in July. Through a ballot system, show organizers asked the public to vote on their favorites. The group was pleasantly surprised by the response; more than 380 visitors voted. The most-popular piece in the show was Colleen Chertos’ colorful mixed-media sculpture, “Reel Consumption with Pleasure,” a fish made from bottle caps, fishing lures, wire and more. Second and third highest vote getters were watercolors by Debra Lee Helwig, “Cat Friends” and “Trilogy,” respectively.  The exhibit’s final day is today.
