Ramthun Seeks To Decertify 2020 Election

A Republican state lawmaker has introduced a resolution to decertify the results of Wisconsin’s 2020 presidential election – something that’s not possible.

Representative Timothy Ramthun of Cambellsport did not immediately return a call from WisPolitics.com seeking comment.

In an email to colleagues, he called the resolution an “initiative to right the most egregious injustice we have seen in our time.” Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz of Oshkosh called Ramthun’s effort “truly unhinged theater of the absurd from the Legislature’s QAnon caucus.”

A memo produced earlier this month by the Legislative Council said decertifying the presidential election is not possible under either state or federal law.
