Regents Select Next UW-System President

The UW Board of Regents has announced their choice as the next president of the UW System.

The board unanimously selected Jay O. Rothman to the lead the UW System, and will replace former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson, who announced his resignation.

Rothman is the chairman and CEO of the Milwaukee law firm Foley and Lardner. The 62-year old Rothman has been the head of the firm since 2011, and has been a partner at the firm since 1994.

Rothman will assume the new role June 1, and will paid an annual salary of $550,000
