Repairs To Ripon Stream Crossing Approved

Ripon’s Common Council recently approved the repair of the Jackson Street stream crossing. Preliminary estimates put the cost from $125,000 to $200,000. City Administrator Lori Rich explains the project. She says, “What they are planning on doing is putting in a Redi-Rock gravity wall and then they will anchor it to an existing crossing. That should give it a lot of years of life.” Funding from a Tax Incremental Financing District created for an Alliance Laundry Systems expansion will pay for the project. She says, “The stream crossing is located very near Alliance Laundry. The TIF was created for the Alliance Laundry new addition. So there is a lot of traffic over that bridge from their employees being very close, it is a very important thoroughfare.” The project will be put out to bid and work on the repair should start in the spring.
