Retired Firefighters Honored By FDL City Council

The Fond du Lac City Council this week honored the City’s two oldest living retired firefighters with proclamations for their service to the City. George Casper (pictured above), who is 99-years-old, served with the City from June of 1946 to February of 1980. George was able to make it to the meeting and thanked the Council and Council President Sam Meyer who presented him with a copy of the proclamation.

Dalton “Dot” Kubelt is 92-years-old. He served with the City fire department from August 1946 to February of 1982. He wasn’t able to make it to the meeting, but a couple family members (pictured below) accepted a copy of the proclamation on his behalf including a granddaughter who thanked the Council on his behalf. The Fond du Lac Fire Department has been protecting lives and property in the community since 1878.
