Ribbon Cutting Held For UW FDL Student Housing

UW Fond du Lac officials held a ribbon cutting late Wednesday morning for the new student housing facility. Construction of the facility began in October of 2016 and was completed ahead of schedule. UW Colleges and UW-Extension Chancellor Cathy Sandeen says the housing will be a good option for those who don’t want to live at home or would rather not commute. She says it means a lot to be able to provide housing at a two-year campus. She says it really creates a more engaging experience for the student all around. Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel says the opening of student housing on the campus is something County officials have been waiting for a long time. He says it is important for the future of the UW Fond du Lac. He says it is an opportunity to attract more students. Buechel says they are also hoping to attract international students to the campus as well. Students will be moving into the new housing at the end of the month.
