Ripon College Extends Spring Break to March 30th

In addition to Marian University and UW-Oshkosh, Ripon
College has also opted to extend spring break for its students as officials
there continue to monitor the spread of the Coronavirus across the nation.

Ripon College President Zach Messitte said in an online post Thursday that spring break for students has been extended to March 30th,
and that students should take “all essential personal and course materials with
them prior to departing campus,” when they leave Friday for the start of break.
Messitte said classes “may restart” on March 30th, depending on the
situation.

The post said that the extra week of break allows faculty
time to work with IT staff to prepare for a potential move to online-only
classes. He said the extension also gives staff a chance to “determine the
severity of the pandemic and chart an appropriate response.”

Ripon College has also canceled all campus-sponsored travel
over spring break, including athletic events.
