Ripon College Student Artwork Featured At FDL Public Library

Ripon College art student Tara Schultz offers an exhibit influenced by the abstract expressionistic works of Joan Mitchell, Mark Rothko and Hans Hofmann in “Indication” December 7 to January 3 in the Langdon Divers Gallery at the Fond du Lac Public Library.

The public is invited to an artist’s reception 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 15, in the gallery. Refreshments will be served; no registration required.

Schultz grew up in a small town near Rosendale and is a senior Studio Art major at Ripon College. Working mostly in painting and drawing, Schultz explores mediums and genres relating to her studies and welcomes a varied approach to making art.

“Explorations in mark making and application characterize these pieces,” Schultz said,
“Which are related through texture and color utilization.”

The library gallery is curated by artist Mel Kolstad, who can be contacted at mel@kolstad.net.
