Ripon Man Charged With Hiding Brothers Corpse

Bond has been set at $50,000 cash for a 45-year-old Ripon man suspected of hiding his brother’s corpse. Robert Diamentis made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County Court Wednesday. He’s facing hiding a corpse, failing to report a death and obstruction charges. According to the criminal complaint he hid the body of 45-year-old Richard Diamentis in a 50 gallon barrel at a residence on Olden Road. Richard allegedly died in February. The body was discovered last Saturday night after Town of Ripon Police asked Sheriff’s deputies for help on welfare check.  Richard suffered from a medical condition that affected mobility and coordination. According to a criminal complaint Robert Diamentis told investigators Richard died February 24th. He allegedly didn’t report the death fearing people would accuse him of mistreating Richard. A preliminary hearing is scheduled June 26th. The investigation into Richard Diamentis’s death continues.
