Ripon Middle School Student Makes Request Of Ripon Common Council

A Ripon Middle School student got his introduction to city government recently when he asked the Ripon Common Council to designate a new official snowmobile route in the city. The Council complimented Evan Conlon for his work, but weren’t able to approve the ordinance change he was asking for. The street along the route for the middle and high school has too much traffic to also accommodate snowmobiles. City Administrator Lori Rich says the Council’s concerns were about the safety of young snowmobile riders that might use the route. City staff had recommended denial of Conlon’s request at this time.
