Ripon Woman Becomes Instant Millionaire

State lottery officials say a Ripon woman is the first player to win $1 million in the new Instant Million lottery game. The winning ticket was purchased Monday by Mary Ann Waltenberry at the Ultimart Citgo West gas station in Ripon. After taxes she will get more than $673,500. Mary Ann is a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. The Citgo station gets a $20,000 commission for selling the ticket. The Instant Million game is the state’s first $30 instant scratch ticket with four $1 million instant prizes. It became available to lottery players for the first time last Friday.
