Robbery Was The Motive In Murder Of FDL Man

The two Fond du Lac men suspected of killing 30-year-old Logan Foster in a parking lot across from the Press Box Tavern robbed him of about $100 and then shot him twice. According to the criminal complaint the gun belonged to 22-year-old Devon Neuman, but it was 23-year-old Jesse Schultz who allegedly told a witness Foster wouldn’t give them the money and he grabbed Neuman’s handgun and shot Foster. A woman that was parking her car in the gravel parking lot across from the bar saw the three men. They made her nervous so she texted her boyfriend to come out of the tavern and escort her to it. That was at 12:38 the morning of September 23rd. The woman heard a gunshot and about five seconds later another. Her boyfriend heard the second shot as he came out to get her. Police were able to use surveillance footage from the Calumet Apartments to identify Schultz and Neuman. It also led to recovery of pieces of a Social Security Card belonging to Foster. Police also learned that on September 22nd Schultz had no money. A witness told them on the morning of September 23rd Schultz had $100 to buy them crack cocaine.  Also during the investigation Police learned Neuman was doing Google searches on September 23rd for “fond du lac police shooting” even though the first report of gunshots being involved weren’t reported until September 26th.
