Rosendale Brandon Superintendent Retiring

Rosendale-Brandon Schools Superintendent Gary Hansen will be retiring this year after 44 years in education. Hansen has spent 42 of those years in the district, the last 15 years as superintendent. He says he’s proud of the improvement students have made in testing scores, the fact that all four schools exceed expectations, and Laconia High School being rated among the top seven percent in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. They’ve also been on the plus side of open enrollment. He says he’s been fortunate to be surrounded by good people during his entire time in the district. Hansen retires at the end of June and will be succeeded by Laconia High School Principal Wayne Weber who Hansen says is more than qualified. Hansen says each year at the high school graduation while the band is playing he leans over to Weber and whispers “Spartan Pride.” He says that will have extra meaning this year.
