Rosy DPI Report Cards Questioned

Wisconsin schools may not have done as well on the new school report cards as first thought.

Lawmakers and other critics say the Department of Public Instruction lowered the scores on the new report cards to make it look as if more schools are passing the state’s tests.

D-P-I initially said 95-percent of Wisconsin school districts met or exceeded state standards. Without changing the scores, Republicans say that number would have been much lower.
