Salmonella Tied to Backyard Chickens

At least 18 cases of salmonella infections in Wisconsin are linked to contact with backyard chickens. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says Wisconsin is second only to North Carolina for the number of salmonella infections due to backyard chickens. The outbreak, which includes several strains of salmonella, has been reported in 44 states. While several people have been made sick, nobody has died.
