Salvation Army Christmas Distribution Program Today

Over 1,100 children and adults will benefit from the Fond du Lac Salvation Army’s Christmas distribution program today. It will be held at the Fond du Lac County Fairground Recreation building. Sign up for the program was back in October. Salvation Army Social Services Director Ron Jacobson says there are a couple ways they find out what the families need. They use Angel trees in which people take ornaments and buy the gifts for the people listed on the ornaments. Jacobson says the people taking part in the distribution are so grateful. Through the Angel trees they also get food for a meal. About 400 families benefit from the distribution. At least 100 volunteers will help out with the program including volunteers from school and civic groups.
