Salvation Army Sending 1000+ Handmade Quilts To Refugees

The Salvation Army is delivering over 1000 handmade quilts to the Afghan refugees at Fort McCoy. Ann Krudinski with the Salvation Army in Wausau says those quilts and other donations have found their way to the Wausau Salvation Army post because they’re the ones best equipped to handle a donation this large.

“Yeah, we’re able to mobilize and get those coordinated and get that sent down there.”

Krudinski says the Wausau Salvation Army has also sent truckloads of diapers and clothing to the refugees this week, adding that their number one need right now is new winter clothing along with cash donations, which can be used to purchase any other items that are needed.
