Save A Smile Mission Of Mercy

The oral health program coordinator for Fond du Lac County says they are looking for people who would like to donate to their Save A Smile program. The dental health program is for children 18 and under on medical assistance. “We are definitely looking into our community this year for some financial support to keep that program going. We do have a waiting list for kids that are still in need of care, and uh like anything it costs money to do that.” Sam Twohig says they also have a program for adults on medical assistance or that are income eligible that need urgent care.  She is also involved in the Mission of Mercy free dental health program put on once a year by the Wisconsin Dental Association. The program came to Fond du Lac in 2015. She says, “In 2015 we helped out close to 1,500 patients that received free dental care. They do everything from cleanings, extractions, dentures it is just a full dental clinic.” This year the Mission of Mercy will be held at the State Fair Park in West Allis on June 22nd and 23rd. For more information about that go to the Wisconsin Dental Association website or you can call Twohig at (920)-929-3790.
