Scam Going Around Now Features Caller Who Threatens To Send Federal Agent To Arrest You

Local authorities are again warning the public of a scam that has popped up locally. Fond du Lac Police were notified Tuesday afternoon by a 57-year old male, who reported receiving a phone call asking about the callers Social Security Number, along with sending $600. The anonymous caller said that failure to give the information and cash would result in a federal agent being sent to their residence to arrest them on a warrant. The scam victim told Officers he had called his bank to stop the payment, but was still confused and concerned about the information that was given out. Authorities remind residents to not give out personal or financial information over the phone to people you do not know.
