Schelinske Retires From Sheriffs Dept

Twice last week the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department bid farewell to long time employees who were retiring. First Gary Rose retired from working in the jail for 19 years. Then on Thursday Deputy Dean Schelinske retired after 22 years most of it as a school resource deputy. Sheriff’s Captain Ryan Waldschmidt says Schelinske could have taken the traditional ramp walk reserved for deputies with more than 20 years with the department, but he opted not to. Deputies and staff held a little gathering for Schelinske who chose not to go out with all the fan fare. Waldschmidt says there are a number of people who attended school in the Campbellsport School District who would know Schelinske as a school resource deputy. (Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s photo).
