Schimel Announces Funding for Know Meth Campaign

Meth use in Wisconsin has risen nearly 500% over the past seven years – and that’s fueling a campaign to show the dangers of the drug. Monday, Attorney General Brad Schimel announced $225,000 in new funding for the Know Meth campaign. The idea shows altered images of Wisconsin traditions – like rusty Harley motorcycles and moldy cheese – to symbolize the effect meth has on the body. Schimel says meth use costs Wisconsin $424 million each year, including costs for taking care of children who are removed from homes where drugs are being used.
