School Board President Happy With Superintendent Choice

The search for the next Superintendent for the Fond du Lac School District ended last week with the announcement that Dr. Jeffrey Fleig will be taking over the position effective July 1.

School Board President, Dr. Susan Jones, tells KFIZ News the five month search included time spent with staff and parents within the district. “The candidates participated in forums with different stakeholder groups, administration, staff, community members, parents and answered their questions.”

Two of the three finalists were currently District Superintendents, while Fleig comes on board with no previous superintendent experience. Dr. Jones says that wasn’t a concern to her or the board. “I don’t see any problem with him stepping into that role. He has the tools and he has the plan to go forward and I think that’s really important.” Jones has been a member of the school board since 1997 and is up for re-election next week.
