School Board Votes 6-3 To Consolidate In Rosendale-Brandon

In a 6-3 vote Monday night, the Rosendale-Brandon School District Board of Education voted in favor of consolidating the middle school in Brandon with one in Rosendale. That move is set to take in the upcoming school year. The proposed plan was met with a fair amount of opposition, including a board that seemed split before taking the vote. In the end, it came down to a decision being made as a result of not enough students enrolled in the district to justify keeping both schools open. The district is expecting a 30% drop in enrollment over the next four years, and believes it will save $68,000 as a result of the consolidation.
