School Threats Have Consequences

Fond du Lac Schools Superintendent Jim Sebert says he can sympathize with what his counterpart in Beaver Dam went through with a recent threat that closed the schools. He says he knows Beaver Dam Superintendent Steve Vessey and threats are not easy to deal with because they have to take them all seriously. He says every time there is a threat in the District they appeal to parents to talk with their children about the consequences of making a threat. He says kids don’t realize that a few ill chosen words can have serious consequences in their lives. The Fond du Lac School District has had recent threats at the High School and Woodworth Middle School, but none of the threats was deemed credible enough to interrupt classes.
