Security Checkpoint Resolution Passes County Public Safety Committee

A staffed security checkpoint at the Fond du Lac City/County
Government Center is one step closer to becoming a reality. The Fond du Lac
County Public Safety Committee approved a resolution creating three full time
deputy positions to staff the checkpoint, which would be installed at the north
entrance to the building for a price tag of just over a quarter of a million
dollars.

The shared City/County building is also home to the courthouse – where
the lack of security has been a bit of a concern. If the resolution is approved
by the county board – the checkpoint would likely become operational next
spring.
