Senate Approves Bill Creating ‘9/11 Memorial Highway’ Near Kewaskum

The State Senate has given unanimous
approval to a bill that would create the ‘Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Highway’ near
Kewaskum. The Department of Transportation will put up and maintain
directional signs on the stretch of State Highway 28 between Interstate 41 and
Highway 144, which will receive the designation. The signs will also point
drivers to the 9/11 Memorial Education Center.
The memorial will include a
two-thousand-pound beam salvaged from the north tower of the World Trade Center.

Family and friends of 9/11 victim Andrea Lyn Haberman from Kewaskum were at
the Capitol last month when the legislation was introduced.  Haberman was
in the north tower of the World Trade Center when it collapsed on September 11th,
2001.
