Senator Baldwin Visits STEM Academy And Mercury Marine

It was a big day for the STEM Academy and Institute in Fond du Lac Friday with U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin visiting. District Superintendent Jim Sebert says it’s an honor to have Baldwin visit the school, which has a hands-on and project-based learning approach. He says she was also interested in the partnership they have with Mercury Marine in the school. The Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Academy is for 3rd through 5th grade students and the Institute for 6th through 8th graders. Baldwin was impressed with the students and how they were learning. She says the students are really excited about the learning they are doing at the school.  Later Baldwin visited Mercury Marine headquarters and assembly plants for a tour. Mercury has had five major expansions over the past few years.
