Sex Offender Finishes Prison Term, Will Reside In City of Fond du Lac

City of Fond du Lac residents are being notified that a convicted sex offender who has completed his prison sentence, will be residing in the City of Fond du Lac.

The Fond du Lac Police Department has been notified by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections that Benjamin D. Solheim is being released back into the Fond du Lac community after serving additional prison time for violations of his extended supervision.  

Solheim was released from prison and back into the community in August 2017.   Solheim was previously released from prison after serving 16 years for 5 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of 4th Degree Sexual Assault.  Solheim was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old female acquaintance.  

Solheim is on extended supervision until August 2023.  Special conditions of Benjamin D Solheim’s supervised release:

  • No contact with victim, no unsupervised contact with minors, no presence in taverns, bars, or liquor stores, and no use of alcohol or illegal drugs.
  • Comply with all rules of high risk sex offender supervision and cooperate with lifetime GPS monitoring.
  • Face-to-face contact with law enforcement as required, lifetime registration with Wisconsin Sex Offender Registration Program.

Benjamin Solheim will be residing at 457 Thomas St upon his release on February 15, 2022.
