Shed Fire In Rosendale Causes Major Damage, No Injuries

A late morning fire in Rosendale results in heavy damages but no injuries. Fire crews were called out Thursday morning, April 16, 2020 at 10:27a.m., for reports of a structure fire on Hickory Rd located in Rosendale. 


The owner of the property reported a hay barn with an attached chicken coop was on fire.. The structure, a 40×40-pole barn that contained 200 hay bales, a skid loader, and the attached chicken coup with 200 chickens is a complete loss. The property owner, Lisa Ferry, had an electric wall mount heater and a heat lamp in the chicken coup when she observed the flames.  


The fire is not suspicious and is believed to have started from a heat lamp that was located in the chicken coup. No injuries were reported. Assisting at the scene were Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along with the Rosendale Fire Department, Eldorado Fire Department, Brandon/ Fairwater Fire Department, Lamartine Fire Department with RIT and Waupun Fire Department with RIT
