Sheriff’s Office Getting Reports About Sexting

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Cameron McGee says they have been getting a growing number of reports of kids sexting or sending nude of semi-clothed pictures of themselves to each other. He says they want to spread the word that it’s dangerous because even if it’s sent to someone you know well, those types of things have a way of making it to the Internet.

He says you can’t always control who views those types of things and if you take that type of photo of a child or possess one it’s considered child pornography. He says in addition to facing fines and jail time sexting could also land you on the state’s sex offender registry.
