Shooting At Antigo High School Prom

(Wisconsin Radio Network)-An 18-year-old Antigo man is dead and two teens were injured, following a shooting outside of Antigo High School prom Saturday night. An on-duty police officer shot Jakob Wagner, after Wagner opened fire on two students leaving the school. The parent of one student who witnessed the incident called it shocking. She said first you are terrified, then you are angry, very angry like why. She says the next emotion is basically “Please God let everyone be alright.” Wagner died early Sunday morning at a Wausau hospital. The two students suffered non-life threatening injuries. The girl was treated and released for her injuries, while the boy underwent surgery Sunday.
Antigo Police say three people were shot
during the Antigo High School Prom Saturday night. Two students were shot as
they were leaving the high school. They suffered non-life threatening injuries
and were taken to a local hospital. Police were in the parking lot patrolling
activities and heard the shots and an officer immediately fired upon the shooter,
stopping the threat. The shooter, a male, was taken into custody and was also
taken to a hospital for treatment. He reportedly used a rifle. The shooting
happened around 11 a.m. All the people at the prom were escorted to
safety.
