Shop Small Sweepstakes Results Announced

Fond du Lac, WI – Sherry Gurno of Fond du Lac is the winner of $500 in downtown gift certificates in the fourth annual Downtown Fond du Lac Shop Small raffle.

Gurno’s winning receipt came from Gallery & Frame Shop where she purchased frames for her children’s family portraits as gifts during the holiday. “I feel like the luckiest person in the world right now,” said Gurno. She is looking forward to sharing some of her winnings with her family during a night out at Joe’s Fox Hut in celebration of her big win.

The Shop Small raffle, sponsored by Fox Valley Savings Bank, is part of an annual marketing campaign organized by the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing people, activity, business and a thriving civic life back to the heart of Fond du Lac.

Gurno was one of 177 individuals to enter the Shop Small raffle by submitting receipts for purchases in downtown between November 1 and December 31, 2017. Individuals received one entry for every $10 spent downtown. Submitted receipts totaled $49,865 in downtown spending and included transactions at 52 different downtown businesses. Entries showed that 88 percent of spending downtown was done by consumers from Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac with most transactions occurring in the week leading up to Christmas.

“Fond du Lac is continuing to come out and support the small, local businesses who call the downtown home,” said Amy Hansen, executive director of the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership.

The Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership, Inc.  is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing people, activity, business and a thriving civic life back to the heart of Fond du Lac. The DFP serves 214 properties with 284 businesses, 76% of which are small, locally-owned and operated.
