Sliced Winners At Taste’s Sliced Competition

Five students from Moraine Park Technical College’s Culinary Arts program participated in the first ever “Sliced” competition at Festival Foods’ Taste of Fond du Lac Sunday. The winners were Chaislyn Preder (above) of St. Cloud and Denis Ramos (below) of Bayonne, New Jersey. Chaislyn prepared the winning meal and Denis placed second. Chaislyn says they only had one hour to work with, which presented some challenges. Denis says they had no idea what secret ingredients they were going to have to incorporate into their dishes. Among the secret ingredients were ketchup and salmon. Chaislyn believes she has what it takes to be a chef. Thousands attended the annual Taste of Fond du Lac at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds.
