SMSA Groundbreaking

Officials at St. Mary’s Springs Academy broke ground Wednesday for a $24.3 million building project. When it’s done they will have a single campus facility on the Ledge for their nearly 800 pre-K through 12th grade students. SMSA Interim President Kelly Norton says the groundbreaking is a celebration of their successful capital campaign. The campaign has raised nearly $22 million to date. She says they are very confident they will reach their end goal pretty soon. The project will be done in two phases with a pre-K through 5th grade facility built first. Phase two will be the renovation of the current high school for use by 6th through 12th grade students. She says the new campus will be complete in time for the 2016-17 academic year. The new pre-K through 5th grade facility will also include a new chapel, gym, cafeteria and child care area.  St. Mary’s Springs Academy photos.
