Snake Owner Cited after Pet Damages Vehicle

The owner of a ball python that was found coiled around the engine of a woman’s truck has been fined. Omro police say the owner of the four-foot snake was given a $313 dollar citation for having an illegal animal in the city. Around 7:00pm Wednesday night, officers and a snake handler had to respond to the vehicle to remove the slithering sneak. Police were able to identify the owner of the snake through social media – and say it had been missing for about a month and a half before it was found under the hood of the truck. The vehicle had to be towed because the serpentine belt had been knocked off by the actual serpent.
