Social Media Threat Against Fondy High Investigated, Dr. Fleig Cancels Tuesday Classes

A social media threat uncovered Sunday continues to be investigated by the City of Fond du Lac Police Department and the Fond du Lac School District.

On Monday, May 30, 2022 at 3:36 pm, officers with the Fond du Lac Police Department received information that students who attend Fond du Lac High School received a threat on Snapchat stating, “Apperantly [sic] there are threats of an 11th and 12th grader having a gun on [sic] fondy just didn’t do anything with it so pretty much the school might get shot up tomorrow. So if you, Guys have a choice to not go then don’t.”

The incident remains under active investigation at this time.  Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact School Resource Officer Matthew Chevremont at (920) 970-7951, email mchevremont@fdl.wi.gov or the Crime Alert at (920) 322-3740, where callers can remain anonymous.

No further details or information are available at this time. FDLPD is in contact with Fond du Lac School District Superintendent Dr. Fleig as this investigation continues. FDLPD and the Fond du Lac School District will provide an update later this evening as more is learned through the investigation. 

Giving the timing of the threat, Superintendent Jeffrey Fleig sent a message to students, families and staff Monday evening canceling classes at Fond du Lac High School for Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

Dr. Fleig said, “This will provide the Fond du Lac Police Department additional time to conduct a thorough investigation. There will be additional information shared on Tuesday in regard to the incident and the status of school for Wednesday, June 1, 2022.”
