Spartans Run By Cardinals

 

Conference leader Oshkosh North ran over Fond du Lac 42-14 on Friday night at JJ Keller Field at Titan Stadium.  North’s Nate Neveau put the Spartans on the board with a 10 yard touchdown run on the first drive of the game.  Fondy then evened the score at seven on a 10 yard TD run by Kyle Pierce.  The flood gates then opened for Oshkosh as their ground game wore down Fondy as they scored 35 straight points before Ty Krueger raced in from 14 yards out late in the 4th for the Cardinals 2nd TD.  Spartan senior running back Alex Hintze ran17 yimes for 258 yards and touchdown runs of 41, 5 and 81 yards.  Neveau ran 14 times for 175 yards and 2 TDs.  Justin Maratik carried the mail 13 times for 84 yards to pace the Fondy ground attack.  Pierce added 65 yards on 12 carries and a TD.  Quinn Qoelfel carried it 11 times for 42 yards.  The loss drops the Cardinals to 2-4 overall and 2-2 in Valley Football Association play.  Oshkosh North is 6-0 overall and 4-0 in league play.  Fondy hosts Oshkosh West next Friday at Fruth.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ and streaming at kfiz.com.
