Special Election Set For April To Fill 13th Senate District Seat

A special election has been announced to fill the 13^th Senate District seat that’s being vacated by Scott Fitzgerald. Governor Tony Evers made the announcement Tuesday, with the special election set to be held April 6^th, the same day as the spring election. Fitzgerald was elected to the House of Representatives in November and will resign his seat as of January 1, 2021. Evers said a primary election, if needed, would be held February 6^th. As of now, only one person has announced they would be running for the seat. State Representative John Jagler announced earlier he would be running to fill the seat. The 13^th Senate District comprises parts of Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, Washington and Waukesha counties.
