Special Election Set For April To Fill 13th Senate District Seat

A special election has been announced to fill the 13th Senate District seat that’s being vacated by Scott Fitzgerald. Governor Tony Evers made the announcement Tuesday, with the special election set to be held April 6th, the same day as the spring election. Fitzgerald was elected to the House of Representatives in November and will resign his seat as of January 1, 2021. Evers said a primary election, if needed, would be held February 6th. As of now, only one person has announced they would be running for the seat. State Representative John Jagler announced earlier he would be running to fill the seat. The 13th Senate District comprises parts of Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, Washington and Waukesha counties.
