Special Use Permit For Bob & Bonnie’s Granted

The Fond du Lac City Council last night unanimously approved a special use permit that would allow Bob & Bonnie’s Donuts to move to the former Social Security Building on Guindon Boulevard. The wholesale donut maker has been in business for 35 years in Fond du Lac. Owner Daniel Fishelson says the former Social Security Building has been vacant for four years and has fallen into ruins. He says he will be fixing it up. He says they won’t be generating a lot of noise, smell or traffic because they are a wholesale business and the only real traffic would be Thursday mornings from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. when the public can buy their donuts. He says a former Sentry Foods store generated much more noise, smell and traffic when it operated in the neighborhood. Council President Sam Meyer says it’s a great business in the community. Bob & Bonnie’s have 16 employs consisting of people with special needs and veterans.
