High School Football begins throughout the area tonight, with teams playing non-conference or crossover games between divisions.

The Fond du Lac Cardinals welcome Kimberly to town tonight on Hall of Fame Night at Fruth Field. Kimberly owns the nation’s longest winning streak at 56 games and has won four straight state championships. It’s a big game  to say the least, but that doesn’t phase the Cardinals according to head coach Mike Gneuwch. He says the magnitude of the game has kept the team focused and the team is “locked in” and knows what they need to do to compete with a top-level program.  We’ll have coverage of the game between Fond du Lac and Kimberly on KFIZ. Coverage begins at 6:30 with the Tim Cruz, American Family Insurance Agency Pregame Show, kickoff at 7pm.

St. Mary’s Springs opens on the road at Markesan tonight. Ledgers head coach Bob Hyland says the Hornets are an experienced team because they return a very good wide receiver and quarterback. They’ve been undefeated in the regular season the last two years but lost early in the playoffs and they’re trying to avoid that by scheduling tougher competition.

Winnebago Lutheran opens at home against Kettle Moraine Lutheran tonight. Vikings head coach Seth Jaeger says stopping the Chargers ground game is key tonight. Jaeger says they have a new coach and a new offensive scheme running the option, and return a talented quarterback who is very quick so they will have to keep tabs on him as well.
