It’s week two of the high school football season tonight:

The Fond du Lac Cardinals look to rebound from a week one loss to Kimberly with a road game at DC Everest. Cardinals head coach Mike Gnewuch says the Evergreens are a program with a lot of tradition and they have a lot of size and are a physical team. We’ll have the game on KFIZ tonight, coverage starts at 6pm with the Tim Cruz, American Family Insurance Pregame Show. Kickoff at 7pm.

It’s a battle of top-ranked teams in the state at Fruth Field tonight as St. Mary’s Springs hosts Amherst in a non-conference clash. The Ledgers hold the #1 ranking in Division Six, while Amherst is the top ranked team in Division Five and is the defending D5 State Champion. Ledgers head coach Bob Hyland says the Falcons are one of those teams that reloads every year. Right now, they only have a few non-seniors in their starting lineup, which means the kids are learning the game and getting reps in practice and are ready to play now

Winnebago Lutheran looks to carry over a successful week one performance against Kettle Moraine Lutheran to a road game at Valders tonight. Head coach Seth Jaeger says Valders is a balanced team with the ability to pass the ball and quick running backs, so they will present a challenge for the Vikings this week.
